Skill Mill NYC is a brand-new creative space committed to providing people of all skill levels support to make their projects a reality. We are a small company seeking someone with strong communication skills who is passionate about creativity and entrepreneurship. We are a digital fabrication studio specializing in laser cutting, 3D printing and design. We offer classes, prototyping, customized products, design consulting services and more. Our technicians/artists work directly with clients on a range of creative projects.
About the Position:
Our company is currently seeking an Operations Manager to manage the daily functioning of our growing digital fabrication studio and classroom. We seek a detail-orientated, creative, administrator to help grow the company. This position will be in charge of establishing our roster of classes and networking events, as well as manage daily administrative tasks. No knowledge of digital fabrication is required, however experience in the arts or creative fields is a plus. The ideal candidate will be involved with launching this exciting enterprise into the next phase.
-Impeccable communication skills (comfortable working directly with clients, fielding phone calls, corresponding with customers/instructors and updating website and social media)
-Creative inclinations and comfort with basic tools/craft materials (experience in the arts or Maker movement)
-Passion for sharing knowledge and learning from others
-Experience/interest in entrepreneurship or business development
-Comfortable working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop…)
